In addition to written translation, Wiedemanni Translations also provides interpreting services. If you have an upcoming event for which you need interpreting, please let us know as early as possible, so that we are able to provide you with the interpreter(s) with the most suitable profile and at the best price. In order for the interpreters to be able to properly prepare, please provide us with supporting materials (agenda, presentations, abstracts and other relevant documents) in good time.
We can also provide less common language combinations. We take each client's request seriously, and we also do extensive ‘digging’ to prepare for the job.
Over the years, we have built up a large database of professional, experienced translators and interpreters. This includes people who can cover most subjects and languages encountered in real life.
When assessing a price quote, please bear in mind that in order to interpret perfectly for, say, three hours at your event, our interpreter usually has to do eight hours' preparation and also has to travel to the venue. The minimum interpreting time is two hours – i.e. if the event for which you need interpreting lasts 30 minutes, we will invoice you for two hours.
Consecutive interpreting
Consecutive interpreting is usually done by one interpreter. The speaker makes a pause every two or three sentences, during which the interpreter can convey the content of the speech. This type of interpreting is suitable, for example, for business meetings and negotiations, informal lectures, etc., as it creates a pleasant, personal atmosphere and gives the speaker the opportunity to gather their thoughts.
Wiedemanni Translations has also
provided consecutive interpreting in language pairs that are less common in
Estonia, such as English-Italian-English, Estonian-Arabic-Estonian, etc.
Simultaneous interpreting
Simultaneous interpreting is usually done by two interpreters working together. Interpreting is performed continuously, simultaneously with the delivery of the original speech. This type of interpreting is suitable for formal lectures, speeches before large audiences and other occasions where it is important to communicate information accurately and quickly.
Wiedemanni Translations' interpreters have a track record of interpreting successfully in a wide range of circumstances and on all sorts of subjects. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need help interpreting an event into the native language of the audience. We also interpret on Zoom, MS Teams and other virtual platforms!
Conference interpreting
Conference interpreting is essentially the same as simultaneous interpreting, except that speeches are interpreted into several languages at the same time, and each language pair is covered by two interpreters. Our record so far has been to simultaneously interpret an event into six languages.
Simultaneous interpreting technology
If you need to hold an event with simultaneous interpretation, please contact us early for advice and a quote to ensure that your event runs smoothly. Simultaneous and conference interpreting require special equipment, which we can provide and deliver to you if necessary, whether the event takes place in Tallinn or on the island of Hiiumaa.
